SoftExpert’s Global Governance, Compliance and Digital Transformation Report highlights challenges related to digital culture, system integration and risk management across highly regulated industries
Growing regulatory complexity has increased the importance of more integrated, digital and data-driven compliance structures. This is one of the findings of the SoftExpert Global Governance, Compliance and Digital Transformation Report, which surveyed business leaders across countries and highly regulated industries.
According to the study, 40% of companies have already experienced significant impacts related to compliance failures, while 41% of respondents say they do not know whether their organizations have been affected by compliance incidents.
Among the main challenges to advancing compliance, 64% of respondents cite a lack of digital culture, while 62% point to outdated or disconnected systems. The findings highlight the importance of connecting processes, information and technology to improve visibility and support more structured risk and compliance management.
Risk management remains a priority
The study also identifies the main priorities for organizations in the coming years. Risk management and employee training rank equally at 58%, followed by improving traceability at 55%.
The integration of governance, compliance and digital transformation is also gaining importance as ESG practices evolve. According to the study, 34% of companies say their ESG initiatives are already driving the digitalization of compliance-related processes.
For SoftExpert, the findings highlight the importance of an integrated approach that brings together technology, processes and people to help organizations navigate an increasingly dynamic regulatory environment.
“Compliance needs to move beyond being viewed simply as a cost center or a bureaucratic requirement and become a true performance asset. Integrated governance supported by a digital environment is essential for organizations to scale innovation securely,” says Josiani Silveira, CEO of SoftExpert.
