Yorozu Automotive Alabama, one of America’s leading vehicle suspension system manufacturers and a part of the Yorozu Corporation’s global network of companies, assures quality using the quality solution from SoftExpert, a provider of software and services for quality management and automation of business processes.
For the last several years, Yorozu Automotive Alabama of Jasper Alabama, has provided quality automotive suspension systems to many well-respected vehicle makers. The company specializes the latest technologies to stamp, paint and assemble innovative and durable suspension systems.
According to Director of Quality Assurance, Kenny Reed, the greenfield facility’s primary challenges was managing quality business processes utilizing separate software from several providers. “We had challenges in tracking key process quality records and forms for the products we manufactured and assembled. Without business process automation, our efficiency was not at the level necessary to support our growing production volumes.”
“We were searching for an integrated, comprehensive system to assure consistent excellence in our quality processes and products. “Through the solution we are able to tailor the system behavior without the need for customization by an on-site programmer” he adds.
Currently, Yorozu Automotive Alabama is utilizing Document Management function to quickly recall key quality management documents and control revisions to assure compliance with industry and company standards, as well. The plant quality team is also heavily using the SoftExpert Problem root-cause analysis and resolution module to keep all key plant team members engaged and informed.
Another highlight pointed out by Kenny is their creation of automated workflows for review and resolution of events triggered by their production Andon system. This integration enables team members and leaders to be notified and assigned tasks in resolving the issues, causes and prevention according to their own sophisticated company preferred process. This takes efficiencies to a new level.
With the document management, business process automation and dynamic action assignments in place, Yorozu Automotive Alabama is easily able to recall and analyze problem resolution records to support continuous improvement efforts. “Through our daily use of SoftExpert, we are automatically building our knowledge base of facts to guide our preventative actions to minimize future risks” Kenny remarked.
For the future, the facility is planning to implement other SoftExpert modules so that more team members can use standardized forms and processes to capture important information in a common system to help speed resolution of open issues. He concludes “We are always looking for new ways to document and track the 4Ms of man, method, machine and material to automate and improve our processes”.
