Gomes da Costa, Latin America’s largest sardine manufacturer, was able to cut production time for internal documents and more efficiently organize day-to-day demands after implementing the SoftExpert solution.
The company, operating in partnership with ‘GDC’ since 2013, provides software and services for improvement in business processes, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. The initial contract between the brands covers maintenance of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications. Since January, the two companies have signed a new agreement to use a new solution.
Various areas of Gomes da Costa began to use a SoftExpert platform that manages all demands for the document produced by the 648 employees registered in the system.
Over 92,000 documents are currently managed using SoftExpert Document, with over 49,000 processes classified by SoftExpert Workflow and 15,827 occurrences handled through SoftExpert Problem, creating 1,417 actions plans.
Improvements
Because of the tool’s simplicity in learning and its ability to integrate with the company’s ERP, positive changes were immediately apparent after implementation. According to data from SoftExpert, automation reduced the time used to fill out spreadsheets by 50% and resulted in more reliable data.
“Today, everything is standardized and we have a version control for documents, standards and procedures, in addition to significantly lowering gaps in approvals and validations, as well as rework and issuance of paper, while also eliminating manual collection of signatures,” says Jéssica Ribeiro, an IT Systems Analyst with Gomes da Costa and the person in charge of supporting the SoftExpert solution at the company.
The company also has the Suite’s support in managing maintenance plans.
“With the implementation of SoftExpert Workflow and SoftExpert Maintenance, we are able to fully manage corrective and preventive maintenance at all of our units. The tool furthermore allows us to measure the gain and immediately know who is responsible for the work and the deadline, with control of preventive maintenance frequency,” says Daison Dutra, Maintenance Engineering Manager.
