It is part of the Techint Group and has operations in 21 areas spread across eight countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, the U.S.A., Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. The energy sector company has over 1,200 oil wells, with annual production of 30 million barrels. Tecpetrol has a daily gas transport capacity of 3.361 million cubic feet, over an 11,500 km network of pipelines where it carries out operations, especially in Camisea, in southern Peru, where the network is 730 km long, making it one of the most important in the industry in Latin America.

The Challenge
Previously, Tecpetrol used a script-based application to generate dynamic web content, utilizing outdated ASP 1.0 technology that no longer efficiently met demands and required significant resources, effort, and time. Information was fragmented, data collection for presentations was time-consuming, and user control related to objectives was often done manually, frequently using external spreadsheets. This fragmentation and lack of integration of critical processes, which were previously dispersed and disarticulated, compromised internal control management and information quality.
The Solution
To address these challenges and increase efficiency in document management, Tecpetrol implemented the SoftExpert Excellence Suite. This corporate solution for performance excellence, enterprise-wide business process improvement, and industry compliance allowed Tecpetrol to centralize procedures and eliminate parallel controls. The suite included tools such as SoftExpert Workflow to homogenize critical processes and SoftExpert Document to optimize information management. The company-wide adoption of the SoftExpert platform facilitated information tracking and user support, integrating various tools and services into a single system. Currently, 700 internal users and 2,000 contractors use SoftExpert Excellence Suite.
