Tecnosulfur, a SKW Group company and a national leader in liquid metal treatment with operations in Brazil and Latin America, sought to automate its operational control. With a revenue of approximately R$ 96 million in 2015, the company chose SoftExpert Excellence Suite from SoftExpert to enhance its business processes, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Challenge

Tecnosulfur faced a significant challenge in controlling its documentation and quality processes. The company managed over 300 documents, including procedures, work instructions, and product specifications, manually and in physical format. Furthermore, the control and processing of non-conformities were also done manually, through paper forms, leading to inefficiency, increased risk of errors, and a high volume of manual labor.

The Solution

To overcome these obstacles, Tecnosulfur implemented the SoftExpert Excellence Suite, automating the control of its operations. The SoftExpert Action Plan and SoftExpert Document modules were deployed, enabling computerized (web-based) control of both documents and non-conformity processes. Approximately 30 users from various sectors such as Quality, Projects, Commercial, Purchasing, Production, and Maintenance routinely use the tool.

The SoftExpert Action Plan optimizes the entire lifecycle of Action Plans, from initial registration to final approval. It improves team communication and collaboration by centralizing the planning, execution, and monitoring of tasks. The SoftExpert Document, in turn, is a robust solution for electronic document management, handling the entire content lifecycle, from creation to archiving or disposal.

The Results

The computerization of document control and corrective and preventive action processes at Tecnosulfur resulted in remarkable improvements. QMS performance was significantly enhanced in audits, ensuring compliance with NBR:ISO 9001 standard requirements and eliminating non-conformities. There was a considerable reduction in time spent on manual activities and labor dedicated to these tasks, freeing up resources for more strategic activities.

Next Steps

The next stage of Tecnosulfur’s implementation project will involve integrating the SoftExpert Performance module. This module will serve as essential support for the company’s Goal Deployment Program, with an estimated creation of approximately 500 indicators, ranging from shareholders to factory floor operations.
