CTG Brasil
CTG Brasil is part of China Three Gorges Corporation, the world’s largest hydropower producer, with operations in more than 40 countries. The company operates 12 hydropower plants (HPPs) and two small hydropower plants (SHPs) and also holds stakes in three additional HPPs and 11 wind farms.
Decentralized information
The company was looking for a solution capable of supporting unified management of activities related to its power generation operations. Jacques Vigato, Manager of the Integrated Management System and Quality at CTG Brasil, explains that the main expectation was to achieve integrated oversight of processes in order to improve management and strengthen the company’s performance metrics.
“Our previous system was decentralized, which made interaction between areas difficult. We also lacked a tool that consolidated all our information, so we relied heavily on spreadsheets for control,” he recalls.
Automated and integrated processes
According to Vigato, the solution was chosen after benchmarking several companies.
“The factors that influenced the decision were that it was already used by other organizations in the sector, had the flexibility required to meet our internal needs, was modular, could be applied to other corporate initiatives and was easy for end users to adopt,” he says.
SoftExpert BPM is used across the company’s entire power generation division, which includes the areas of Health & Safety, Environment, Integrated Management System, Asset Management, Engineering, Operations & Maintenance and Civil Engineering & Dam Safety. The project is already being expanded to the Energy Commercialization division. The company also plans to implement the performance management and document management modules.

Dashboards that support effective management
CTG Brasil had a set of requirements that needed to be met, including an intuitive interface, user-friendly experience, user notifications aligned with business rules and flexibility to adapt to the different needs of the power generation area, supporting management at all levels.
Vigato explains that once teams started using the solution, they identified new opportunities, such as developing customized management portals and creating personalized access profiles with dashboards that enhance visibility for leaders.
