Caldic turns regulatory requirements into value for customers and suppliers with SoftExpert
System validation strengthened trust across the company’s entire value chain
At Caldic, a global distributor of chemical products with a strong presence in Latin America, technology plays a key role in ensuring quality. Internally, the SoftExpert Suite platform even earned a nickname, “Rubik". It serves as the central hub for critical activities such as document management, deviation control, and handling customer requests.
Technology that supports quality
However, when facing Anvisa’s regulatory inspections, a new need appeared: to validate the systems in use. Until then, Caldic had operated the SoftExpert Suite platform without a validation requirement. But with the acquisition of a facility dedicated to serving compounding pharmacies, that changed. Integrating the new unit brought the need to comply with specific industry regulations, making validation essential.
More than meeting a legal requirement, Caldic saw the process as an opportunity to strengthen confidence in its operations and ensure full regulatory compliance.
Platform upgrade: compliance meets efficiency
The project began in mid-2024 and included an essential step recommended by SoftExpert: upgrading the platform to a more recent version. This evolution became a differentiator, as it not only met regulatory requirements but also brought significant improvements to the company’s daily operations, such as new dashboards, more intuitive portals, and a refreshed interface.
The change was quickly noticed by employees. “It made it easier to find information and created a more user-friendly experience. All departments adopted it and gave positive feedback,” highlights Emilly, Quality Assurance and ESG Analyst at Caldic.

Positive impact across the entire value chain
The system validation generated positive effects throughout the value chain in which Caldic operates. As a distributor, the company is constantly audited by clients from sectors such as pharmaceuticals and food, which require additional proof of compliance. In this context, validation strengthened information security and traceability, building trust not only internally but also among suppliers and customers.
“It is a value chain. By demonstrating that our system is reliable, we show clients and partners that our records are accurate and auditable, which strengthens the credibility of our entire operation,” explains Emilly.

Strengthening the quality culture
SoftExpert’s support was another key highlight for Caldic throughout the project. According to Emilly, the team acted as a true partner, working side by side in every stage—from the platform upgrade to the validation process.
“The support was outstanding. We were in direct contact, even outside regular hours, and the team went above and beyond to make it happen. It was an intense yet highly collaborative effort that made all the difference in the outcome,” she says.
With this initiative, Caldic not only met regulatory requirements but also strengthened its quality culture and confidence in the technology that supports its operations. For Emilly, validation proved to be a strategic differentiator:
“Validation should not be done solely to meet legal requirements, but as an opportunity to better understand the system and increase confidence in the processes. Often, we get caught up in day-to-day operations and fail to explore all functionalities. Validation broadens our view of everything we can create and manage within the system.”
