The solution will automate more than 20 processes and integrate SAP
Imepel Indústria Mecânica, the largest manufacturer of rollers for continuous conveyors in Brazil, optimized its process management with a solution by SoftExpert, a global supplier of software and services for automating and improving business processes, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
With over 20 years of experience in the metalworking industry manufacturing rollers, cradles and drums for continuous conveyors, Imepel has 160 employees at their Siderópolis unit in Santa Catarina, Brazil and had BRL 62 million in revenues in 2019.
The implementation of the solution will automate more than 20 processes using the SoftExpert Process, Workflow and Form modules, which are used across the company from the administrative to operational areas, in addition to integrating SAP, which was recently carried out.
According to Júlio Cota, Imepel Process Manager, the SoftExpert Excellence Suite solution allows for the agile and dynamic control of processes in progress, since the system informs managers and employees about their activities, which can be monitored at any time from any place.
“Management uses the system not only to monitor the SAP Business One numbers in real time with SoftExpert Analytics, but also to approve and monitor requests from managers. In addition, Controllership and Accounting are able to manage terms of Contracts and Certificates of Good Standing with the SoftExpert Document module,” the manager explains.
He notes that these processes used to be controlled with Excel spreadsheets and by e-mail, without any standard or coordination between sectors, which resulted in loss of data and delays due to human error. “We didn’t know the exact number of processes in progress, nor were we aware of just how many different processes existed in the company,” Júlio explains.
According to the manager, today the SoftExpert solution controls these activities without disrupting the progress of work. “We used to try to control individual tasks, but this always ended up hindering the process. We are very satisfied with the tool, which is extremely useful and effective,” he emphasizes.
One of the company’s current challenges is to improve overall business management, generating process indicators in order to eliminate bottlenecks.
